AI Adoption Lead (Enterprise)
The person who makes AI real
A board-endorsed AI strategy in a Billion-dollar revenue enterprise. A genuine vision with executive support. Foundations in place and early production use cases are live. Now they need the person to deliver the mandate.
Many AI strategies live in presentations. This one has board approval, shareholder backing, and benefit areas are already identified. What it doesn't have yet is the person to own it end to end - to take a complex, global organisation from AI-Aware to AI-Mature and make sure every use case that goes into production actually delivers a return.
This is not a technical role, but you’ll need to understand AI fundamentals, the latest evolving capabilities and have an understanding of Agentic AI. It is the hardest kind of transformation role - one where you work with people, culture and organisational behaviour, with your output being measured in commercial outcomes.
You will sit at the intersection of strategy and reality, working closely with the business and the board, to ensure that AI delivers genuine value.
The foundations are already in place and being worked on. The data platforms, the governance framework, a suite of tools - they exist. What's missing is the leader who can look across a distributed, multinational company and make this a reality.
The person who succeeds in this role will have done this before, having worked on data foundations and having taken AI use cases from conception through to production with demonstrable results. You’ll have sat in the room where a use case looked good on paper and failed in production. You’ll have fought for budget, navigated stakeholder politics, and still delivered a return on investment.
You'll have managed the uncertainty that comes with AI rollouts, the scepticism from senior stakeholders, and the pressure from a board that wants more.
What you'll be doing
- Owning the AI roadmap and translating ambitions into a phased, executable delivery plan
- Building and leading a Champions Network across multiple business units and geographies
- Designing and running AI literacy programmes from frontline employees to Executives
- Driving measurable outcomes across four priority use cases, with named owners, KPI baselines and production gates for each
- Managing the AI tool estate and leading the enterprise LLM decision
- Building the commercial case for AI investment - in language that works for a board, not just a technology audience
- Managing the human and organisational side of transformation: the internal communications, the engagement campaigns, the parts that make adoption stick
What you'll need
- Significant experience leading data transformations and more recently AI transformation programmes in complex, multi-business-unit organisations, with demonstrable commercial outcomes
- The credibility to operate at ExCo level and the ability to build relationships at every level
- Working knowledge of and experience with the enterprise AI stack - Copilot tooling, cloud data platforms, frontier LLMs - Claude Code, Codex, without needing to be the most technical person in the room
- Experience with AI governance, responsible AI frameworks and the regulatory landscape
- Commercial acumen: you can build an investment case and confidently manage a P&L conversation
- A bias for outcomes over activity - you measure success by what changed, not what was delivered
This role will require some travel across UK and Europe to spend time with the business units. Unfortunately, Visa sponsorship is not available.
