Senior Test Analyst (Automation)

Role: Senior Test Analyst

Work location: Telford, UK (2 Days weekly)

Job type: Full Time

Mandatory: SC eligible.

• Senior Test Analyst (SC eligible.) with ~10 years of experience in QA/testing.
• ISTQB/ISEB certified with strong expertise in manual + automation testing .
• Experience in public sector - HMRC preferable
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• SAP/Pega/Datawarehouse experience Preferable

Core Testing Expertise

• Functional Testing: System, SIT, GUI, UAT, exploratory, compatibility.
• Strong experience in:
• Test design, execution & defect management
• Requirement analysis & stakeholder collaboration
• Defect triage & reporting

Automation & Technical Skills

• Automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber (BDD)
• API testing: SOAP UI, Postman, JMeter
• CI/CD & DevOps tools: Jenkins, Git, GitLab
• Working knowledge of:
• Java, SQL, XML, JSON
• AWS cloud environments

Test Management & Tools

• Tools: JIRA, Xray, Zephyr, ADO, Excel, Confluence.
• Strong in:
• Test planning & strategy
• Writing test cases/scenarios
• Reporting & documentation

Methodologies

• Experience across:
• Agile (Scrum), Waterfall, V-Model
• Active participation in:
• Daily stand-ups
• Sprint cycles
• Defect triage & release planning

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Experience leading QA teams and mentoring juniors.
• Strong stakeholder coordination (BA, Dev, PM, SMEs).
• Works effectively in high-pressure and distributed environments.

Certifications

• ISEB/ISTQB Certified Tester
• Agile tester certifications
