Job Summary: The Senior Guidewire Developer will lead the design, development, and implementation of Guidewire InsuranceSuite solutions (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter). This role involves technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable, high-quality insurance applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end development of Guidewire modules including PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.
- Architect and implement scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with enterprise IT strategy.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to gather requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Guide and mentor junior developers in best practices, clean code, and modern engineering principles.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure high software quality.
- Manage deployment strategies and ensure smooth integration across environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Stay updated with Guidewire product releases and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Guidewire development.
- Strong expertise in Guidewire modules (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
- Proficiency in Gosu, Java, SQL, XML, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).
- Experience with version upgrades (e.g., V7 to V10), rule/event framework, and product model changes.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps, and tools like JIRA, Git, Maven/Gradle.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Guidewire Certification (Associate or Specialist).
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud rollout and legacy system modernization.
- Strong understanding of Guidewire Data Model and PCF design. Experience with integration and conversion projects.
- Soft Skills: Strategic thinking and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
