Head of Data Science

Salary: Up to £125k + bonus

Location: London (Hybrid)

This is a newly created leadership role, designed to bring focus, structure, and strategic direction to an already established ML function, while also shaping a growing GenAI product capability.

You will lead a team responsible for production machine learning systems powering core customer experiences, including recommendations, personalisation, and search.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and evolve a production ML function (recommendations, search, personalisation)
• Own the Data Science roadmap and prioritisation of model investment
• Build and scale generative AI capability across product features
• Define best practices for model evaluation, quality, and responsible AI
• Partner with Engineering and MLOps on deployment and operationalisation
• Mentor and develop a team of Data Scientists

What We’re Looking For

• Experience leading Data Science / ML teams in a product-led business
• Strong background in production machine learning systems
• Exposure to generative AI / LLM-based product development
• Strong technical judgement and ability to operate strategically
• Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering
