Lead Full Stack Developer

Who will you be joining?

You will be joining a specialised SaaS and IoT pioneer based in Oxfordshire. They are a small but high-impact team where every contribution is genuinely valued. They operate a sophisticated, 100% serverless environment and are looking for a "muck-in" leader who is passionate about building amazing software in a supportive, fun, and enthusiastic environment.

What will you be doing?

• Developing innovative new product features and maintaining existing code to ensure the platform remains industry-leading.
• Taking ownership of the backend-heavy workload, with an expected split of 85% backend and 15% frontend development.
• Line managing and mentoring developers within the team to support their professional growth.
• Planning and coordinating development work to deliver business priorities while managing tasks within Jira.
• Performing rigorous front and back end code reviews to ensure quality and alignment with best practices.
• Evolving system security to mitigate the latest threats and monitoring production systems to respond to degradations.

Why would you be a good fit?

• You have a minimum of 5 years’ development experience and are an expert in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• You possess extensive experience with a serverless stack, specifically utilising AWS Lambda, AppSync/GraphQL, and CloudFormation.
• You are comfortable with modern frontend frameworks, specifically ReactJS and NextJS.
• You have a proven record of managing diverse, remote teams and possess great communication skills.
• You write clean, readable, and well-structured code following SOLID principles and Test Driven Development (TDD).
• You have a strong understanding of security best practices and experience with Gitflow branching models.
• You are proactive, inquisitive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• You are available to respond to production system degradations at any reasonable time outside of core 9am–5pm hours.

This role is remote-first and flexible, but the successful candidate will need to be prepared to travel to meet colleagues in Oxfordshire (or London) 1-2 days per week where required.
