Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Data Engineer with strong Oracle and finance systems expertise to join our Finance Platform – Accounting & Statutory Reporting Lab within the Group Transformation division.
This role sits at the heart of a critical finance technology ecosystem, driving the design, optimisation, and stability of our AAH (Accounting Hub) data platform. You will play a key role in delivering scalable, resilient, and high-performing data solutions that underpin financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
This is an opportunity to contribute to large-scale transformation initiatives, modernise legacy processes, and influence engineering best practices within a collaborative, Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise data processing workflows and microflows within the AAH platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability
- Build and maintain advanced PL-SQL components (stored procedures, packages, triggers) to support complex financial data transformations
- Leverage Python to develop automated testing frameworks and quality assurance processes, including the use of Playwright
- Collaborate within a cross-functional Agile team, working closely with business configuration engineers, SMEs, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions
- Contribute to end-to-end system design, troubleshooting, and optimisation across data pipelines and supporting infrastructure
- Support and enhance CI/CD and DevOps practices, utilising tools such as Git and Harness
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and ensure transparent delivery tracking via Jira
- Play a pivotal role in a major platform upgrade, ensuring the solution is robust, secure, and future-ready
- Champion engineering standards, coding best practices, and continuous improvement across the team
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AAH (Accounting Hub) from both technical and functional perspectives
- Advanced proficiency in PL-SQL, including performance tuning and complex data manipulation
- Solid experience using Python for automation, testing, or data-related tasks
- Proven experience working within Agile/SCRUM environments
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
- Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright or similar)
- Good understanding of finance processes, accounting flows, and sub-ledger systems
Desirable Skills
- Experience contributing to large-scale transformation or migration programmes
- Exposure to data platform modernisation or optimisation initiatives
