Senior Go Backend Engineer – Mobile Security (Contract)
Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Go Backend Engineer to join a high-impact Mobile Security team responsible for protecting mobile applications at scale.
This team delivers a suite of security components and services—including penetration testing, obfuscation, and consultancy—to ensure a strong and proactive security posture across mobile platforms.
You’ll play a key role in building secure, scalable, and high-performance backend systems, enabling mobile engineering teams to innovate confidently in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure, enterprise-grade Go applications
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
- Work with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure solutions
- Optimise backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices
- Enhance system observability and monitoring using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace
- Support security initiatives across mobile platforms
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience developing secure, scalable applications in Go
- Solid understanding of:
- REST APIs
- Microservices architecture
- Containerisation technologies
- Hands-on experience with:
- Docker & Kubernetes
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience implementing DevOps practices:
- Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD pipelines
- Deployment strategies
- Strong grasp of:
- Coding best practices
- Agile development
- Continuous delivery
- Experience in performance tuning and optimisation
- Familiarity with observability tools such as:
- Splunk
- Dynatrace
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Java development
- Knowledge of cryptography frameworks (Go and/or Java)
- Experience with SQL databases
