Location: Warwick / Wokingham (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite per week)

Contract Type: Long-Term Contract

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance preferred

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solution Architect to join a major enterprise technology programme. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure and transformation initiatives, providing architecture leadership across cloud, networking, data centre, and enterprise infrastructure environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and supportable technical solutions while working closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and enterprise architecture functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of solution architectures and technical designs for medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Evaluate multiple solution options and provide recommendations aligned with business objectives and enterprise standards.
• Produce high-quality architecture deliverables, including solution designs, technical specifications, and implementation guidance.
• Provide infrastructure subject matter expertise across complex programmes and projects.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture teams to ensure alignment with strategic roadmaps and architecture principles.
• Support project teams throughout design, build, testing, deployment, and operational handover activities.
• Develop sizing models, solution estimates, and cost assessments.
• Ensure solutions are designed with appropriate consideration for security, resilience, performance, availability, monitoring, and operational support.
• Participate in architecture governance and design review forums.
• Contribute to the development of architecture standards, best practices, and technical roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to project and engineering teams.
• Support vendor evaluations, proof-of-concepts, production escalations, and strategic technology initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience as an Infrastructure Solution Architect within complex enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to translate business and functional requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Strong experience producing architecture and solution design documentation.
• Significant hands-on experience delivering infrastructure solutions across one or more of the following areas:
• Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, Hybrid Cloud)
• Networking (LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi)
• Data Centre Infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Backup and Recovery)
• Unified Communications and Telecoms (VoIP, PBX, Collaboration Platforms)
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, availability, resilience, disaster recovery, monitoring, and support models.
• Experience working within architecture governance frameworks and enterprise architecture environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consultancy skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple teams, suppliers, and business functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Advanced technical certification in one or more of the following:
• Microsoft Azure
• AWS
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• VMware
• Cisco
• Red Hat
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification desirable.

Additional Information

• Active SC Clearance is highly desirable.
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain SC Clearance.
• Hybrid working model with an expectation of 2–3 days onsite per week in Warwick or Wokingham.
• Long-term contract opportunity on a major enterprise programme.
