Contract Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Power BI Architect to join a leading organisation based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled BI professional with strong Power BI, SSRS, SQL Server, and reporting architecture experience to play a key role in delivering business-critical reporting and analytics solutions.
The Role
As a Power BI Architect, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and reporting teams to design, develop, and optimise reporting solutions that support both operational and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for building scalable reporting frameworks, enhancing automation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.
- Architect and support SSRS reporting solutions connected to SQL Server databases.
- Develop scalable reporting frameworks and automated reporting processes.
- Optimise and enhance existing reporting solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
- Work with large and complex datasets to provide actionable business insights.
- Support the migration of existing reporting processes to modernised and automated solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reporting best practices across all deliverables.
- Produce technical documentation and maintain reporting standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Power BI Architect, BI Architect, or Reporting Solutions Architect.
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including:
- DAX
- Power Query
- Power BI Report Server
- Dashboard and report development
- Extensive experience with SQL Server and advanced SQL development.
- Strong experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration.
- Experience working with complex datasets and data modelling techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management experience.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience with additional BI and analytics technologies.
- Background within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or other regulated environments.
