Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days per week onsite

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer/Engineer to join a collaborative delivery team working on a critical payments and settlement platform within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated working group, contributing to the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise-scale applications.

This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn and contribute within a complex application environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications.
• Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Support existing applications and implement new functionality.
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Contribute to Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills & Experience

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience with:

• Oracle PL/SQL
• Java
• Spring Boot
• Apache Kafka
• Hibernate
• Gradle

In addition, candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience delivering and supporting production code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• High levels of integrity, organisation, and self-motivation.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies and business domains.

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

• Karate
• OpenShift
• Jenkins
• React
• Redux / Redux Saga
• Control-M
• Agile / SAFe delivery frameworks
• Financial Services or Banking sector experience

Additional Information

• Hybrid working model with onsite attendance in either London or Leeds 2–3 days per week.
