Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 to 3 days per week onsite

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer/Engineer to join a collaborative delivery team working on a critical payments and settlement platform within a highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated working group, contributing to the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise-scale applications.
This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn and contribute within a complex application environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications.
- Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Support existing applications and implement new functionality.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
- Contribute to Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience with:
- Oracle PL/SQL
- Java
- Spring Boot
- Apache Kafka
- Hibernate
- Gradle
In addition, candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong software engineering and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience delivering and supporting production code.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- High levels of integrity, organisation, and self-motivation.
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies and business domains.
Desirable Skills
Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:
- Karate
- OpenShift
- Jenkins
- React
- Redux / Redux Saga
- Control-M
- Agile / SAFe delivery frameworks
- Financial Services or Banking sector experience
Additional Information
- Hybrid working model with onsite attendance in either London or Leeds 2–3 days per week.
