Job Title: Solution Data Designer

Location: Horsham, UK (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Solution Data Designer to shape and deliver high-quality data design solutions across a range of strategic initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring that data is structured, governed, and integrated effectively to support enterprise-wide objectives.

You will work closely with architects, analysts, and engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and well-governed data solutions aligned with enterprise data standards.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Data Design & Delivery

• Design and develop solution-level data models (conceptual, logical, and physical).
• Produce and maintain data dictionaries and metadata aligned with enterprise standards.
• Contribute to data impact assessments and define reusable data design patterns.
• Ensure alignment with Enterprise Data Model and Canonical Data Models.
• Support data integration and interoperability across core systems.
• Apply Data Protection by Design principles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure all designs adhere to data governance frameworks and quality standards.
• Support the evaluation and selection of data tools, platforms, and technologies.
• Contribute to building a scalable and repeatable data design practice.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as the primary point of contact for data design within project teams.
• Collaborate with:
• Enterprise & Solution Architects
• Business & Data Analysts
• Engineering teams
• Project Managers
• External vendors
• Translate business requirements into practical and scalable data solutions.
• Provide clear guidance and influence stakeholders on best data practices.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to improve data design processes, standards, and tooling.
• Stay up to date with emerging data architecture trends and technologies.
• Contribute to innovation in areas such as cloud data platforms, AI, and advanced analytics.

Customer Conduct & Compliance

• Understand and adhere to FCA Conduct Rules and organisational conduct frameworks.
• Ensure all data solutions contribute to fair and positive customer outcomes.
• Embed data privacy, security, and ethical standards into all designs.

Skills & Experience

Core Expertise

• Strong experience in solution data design or data architecture roles.
• Deep understanding of:
• Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical)
• Data integration patterns
• Data architecture principles

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with erwin Data Modeler (essential).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalog tools.
• Experience with MDM tools such as Ataccama ONE or Profisee (desirable).
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem:
• Microsoft Azure
• Azure Databricks
• Microsoft Power BI
• Awareness of AI/ML capabilities within Azure environments.
