Senior Data Support Engineer (Azure / SQL / Power BI) – UK
About the Role
We’re working with a leading organisation seeking a Senior Data Support Engineer to join their growing data team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality data insights, supporting data integration processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
You’ll work across data analysis, reporting, and platform support, collaborating with stakeholders to turn complex data into meaningful and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth data analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights
- Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Support and maintain data pipelines and workflows within Azure environments
- Analyse and interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies in large datasets
- Develop and optimise SQL queries for performance and efficiency
- Contribute to the improvement of data collection, processing, and reporting frameworks
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions aligned with business needs
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with SQL (query writing, optimisation, troubleshooting)
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks
- Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau
- Solid understanding of data modelling and data structures
- Experience working with ETL/ELT processes
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with stakeholders and translate business requirements into data solutions
Desirable
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments (Azure preferred)
- Exposure to data governance and best practices
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
Working Arrangement
- Hybrid working model
- 2–3 days per week onsite in London
