Technical Services Engineer TLNT1 NI

Role Overview The Technical Services Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the organisation's ICT infrastructure, cloud services, business applications, and end-user technologies. The role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing IT services while supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Provide 2nd/3rd line support across infrastructure, applications, networks, and end-user devices. Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Windows Server, and Hyper-V environments. Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switching, VPNs, firewalls, and Wi-Fi services. Monitor system performance, security, backups, patching, and availability to ensure service continuity. Act as technical lead for business-critical systems, managing configurations, upgrades, integrations, and user support. Deliver ICT projects, including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and post-deployment support. Support cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability management, access controls, and compliance activities. Work with external vendors and managed service providers to resolve incidents and deliver technology improvements. Develop technical documentation, system procedures, and knowledge resources. Deliver training and support user adoption of digital systems and platforms. Essential Skills & Experience Experience in an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role. Strong knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform, Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Hyper-V, and endpoint management. Demonstrable experience driving the adoption of AI technologies while managing associated security, privacy, compliance, and operational risks. Experience supporting networks, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud-based services. Familiarity with ITIL-based service management and ITSM platforms. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Required Experience with Microsoft Azure services. Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI). Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and best practices. Experience supporting VOIP/Unified Communications platforms. Experience with API integrations and data workflows. Exposure to ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus. Experience managing third-party vendors and managed service providers. Key Competencies Technical and analytical mindset. Continuous improvement focus.
