Business Analyst / Product Owner
Business Analyst / Product Owner - Health Technology
Contract 3months + possible perm
Location: Hybrid (Canary Wharf & Remote)

About the Role
Our Client is building the future of connected healthcare - empowering patients and clinicians through seamless, secure, and intuitive digital experiences.
As the Product Owner / Business Analyst, you'll sit at the intersection of product strategy, user experience, and delivery execution.
You'll take ownership of a patient portal and online doctor application, driving clarity across requirements, managing stakeholders, and ensuring every release genuinely improves the patient journey. Confident, articulate, and hands-on, you'll be as comfortable leading workshops in Canary Wharf as you are working remotely to refine requirements and shape sprint backlogs.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership
- Define and maintain a clear product roadmap for patient-facing and clinician-facing digital tools.
- Translate strategic objectives into actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritise and manage the product backlog, balancing user needs, compliance, and delivery timelines.
- Represent the user's voice throughout design and development, ensuring accessibility, simplicity, and security.
- Measure product success through KPIs, adoption metrics, and patient experience data.
Business Analysis & Requirements Leadership
- Lead requirement-gathering workshops with clinicians, patients, developers, and regulatory teams. Clear communication and a confident speaker are required.
- Capture and document detailed business and technical requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment to compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, NHS Digital guidelines).
- Map and optimise patient journeys and operational workflows.
- Support UX/UI design by providing structured insights into user needs and constraints.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are implemented effectively.
Stakeholder & Delivery Engagement
- Partner with clinical leads, compliance officers, and technology teams to balance innovation with safety and governance.
- Facilitate workshops and playback sessions that foster alignment and shared understanding.
- Translate complex healthcare processes into clear, testable requirements.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery through close collaboration with development, QA, and operations teams.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or hybrid of both - ideally in digital health, medtech, or regulated industries.
- Proven ability to lead workshops and engage confidently with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of Agile delivery practices and user-centred product design.
- Strong communication skills - able to translate technical detail into business language, and vice versa. Able to manage both Stakeholders and Peers.
- Experience managing complex requirements across web and mobile platforms.
- Working knowledge of data privacy, patient consent, and healthcare interoperability (FHIR, HL7, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Miro, or Lucidchart for backlog and documentation management.
Desirable
- Previous experience in NHS, digital health startups, or telemedicine platforms.
- Familiarity with clinical workflows or EMR/EHR systems.
- Certification in Product Ownership or Business Analysis (CSPO, PSPO, CBAP, etc.).
What's on Offer
- Hybrid working model - Canary Wharf office presence balanced with remote flexibility.
- The chance to shape the future of digital healthcare, directly improving patient outcomes.
- A collaborative, forward-thinking culture that values openness, experimentation, and accountability.
- Competitive compensation and opportunities for career growth in a rapidly evolving sector.
