12 Month Internship

Main purpose of the role:

As an intern DevOps developer, you will contribute to the Market Data (MD) cluster at Commerzbank, which is responsible for sourcing, distributing, and providing market data across the enterprise. The MD cluster drives process automation, enhances efficiency, and achieves cost reductions while ensuring the strategic business capabilities and requirements are met. Through active vendor management, license optimization, and market data platform implementation, the team ensures seamless market data provision.

Market data is a critical component of the enterprise, requiring ongoing collaboration with business areas to understand their needs, engage with market data providers, and optimize data connectivity based on latency, bandwidth, and cost. Continuous monitoring of market data usage helps identify inefficiencies such as unnecessary duplications or unused licenses to enhance operational productivity. In this role, you will collaborate closely with a small, dynamic, and multidisciplinary team, actively contributing from the start to maintain and enhance the existing suite of Market Data applications. Your primary focus will be on building solutions and automating operational processes using Java, Python, TypeScript and DevOps methodologies. You will also interact with colleagues across various levels in the bank, fostering close cooperation to ensure the success of critical initiatives. Key requirements:

· Recently graduated within the last 12 months or expected to graduate in 2026.

· Ideally holds a degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Econometrics, or a similarly quantitative field.

· Should have achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum 2:1 UK bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

· Some exposure to the Financial Services sector.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.

· Demonstrates strong teamwork capabilities.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Experience with programming languages such as Java, TypeScript and Python.

· Familiarity with relational database systems.

· Knowledge of cloud platforms.

· Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs).
