Job Summary:

 

Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Platform Engineering Team (20+ team members). This is a hands-on technical role focused on automation, streaming platforms, and DevOps tooling across their enterprise infrastructure.

 

You'll work within collaborative pods responsible for different application groups, building automation solutions, managing CI/CD pipelines, and implementing infrastructure-as-code. This role offers excellent exposure to cutting-edge technologies, including Kafka, Ansible Tower, and containerization platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages
  • Work with Kafka or similar streaming platforms for data pipelines and real-time processing
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo/Jenkins and BitBucket/GitLab
  • Create Ansible Tower runbooks and playbooks for infrastructure automation
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Implement privileged access management using CyberArk
  • Utilize Splunk and Grafana for monitoring, logging, and performance analysis
  • Perform SQL and Oracle database administration and troubleshooting
  • Maintain Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat) environments
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, project managers, and suppliers on technical implementations

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • Strong scripting abilities (Python or PowerShell preferred; Bash or Perl also valued)
  • Experience with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, or equivalent)
  • Expert in CI/CD experience using Bamboo/Jenkins and BitBucket/GitLab
  • Configuration management with Ansible (Ansible Tower is highly valued)
  • SQL Server and Oracle database administration
  • Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) and Linux (Red Hat) system administration
  • Desirable Skills: CyberArk, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift), monitoring tools (Splunk/Grafana), web servers (IIS/Tomcat), Active Directory, networking, virtualization (VMware), and Agile methodologies
