  • Industry: Financial Services / Highly regulated environment

Job Summary:

We are searching for an Enterprise Architect on behalf of a progressive financial services firm. You will lead their data-driven technology evolution and architect the future state of their cloud infrastructure, with Data architecture as the cornerstone of their digital ecosystem.

This is a greenfield opportunity to establish enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and design scalable data platforms. You'll define architectural standards that enable advanced analytics, AI/ML capabilities, and regulatory compliance while solving complex data integration, quality, and lineage challenges. Deep knowledge of Microsoft data technologies - including Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, and Power BI. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who can bridge business objectives with technical execution, translating data challenges into architectural solutions that drive competitive advantage in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape the technology roadmap and create architectural guardrails that support business expansion and operational efficiency
  • Design cloud foundations and service models that extract maximum value from existing Microsoft platform investments
  • Transform the data landscape by creating unified approaches to information management across disconnected applications and legacy environments
  • Define connectivity strategies and service integration patterns that eliminate system silos and improve interoperability
  • Facilitate technical design reviews, ensuring solutions meet quality, security, and compliance standards without bottlenecking delivery
  • Partner with executive stakeholders to articulate technology decisions in commercial terms with clear benefit realisation
  • Build technical capability within engineering teams through coaching on contemporary architecture practices and cloud paradigms
  • Institute financial discipline for cloud consumption through optimisation strategies and cost governance models

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Substantial architecture experience serving regulated industries such as professional services, financial institutions, or compliance-driven sectors
  • Must-have experience in own end-to-end Data Enterprise Architecture - from hands-on data modelling and logical/physical schema design, through data integration and connectivity strategies, to strategic roadmap planning and enterprise-wide data capability development.
  • Expert-level understanding of Azure capabilities, including foundation architecture, infrastructure patterns, and platform services
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft identity platforms (Entra ID), authentication frameworks, and collaboration suite administration
  • Demonstrated success with information architecture, including governance models, data quality initiatives, and cross-system integration challenges
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft analytics ecosystems (examples: Synapse Analytics, Fabric, Data Factory, BI platforms, and Landing zone)
  • Track record engaging C-level audiences and converting technical strategies into business outcomes
  • Understanding of compliance obligations and operational risk in regulated environments

Preferred:

  • Professional credentials in cloud architecture, data engineering, or enterprise architecture methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with iPaaS solutions, API management, or event-driven integration frameworks
  • Background in implementing AI/ML capabilities using cloud-native services
