ServiceNow Discovery Engineer – AWS Integration

Overview:

My client, one of the UK's most exciting and fastest growing IT Services organisations is seeking a skilled ServiceNow Discovery Engineer with hands-on experience configuring event-driven discovery for AWS environments.

The initial project the candidate will be placed on (projected to last several years) will be with a major internationally operating Financial Services organisation to utilise their skills on a large-scaled ServiceNow AWS integration.

The ideal candidate will have strong JavaScript development skills, particularly in ServiceNow Business Rules, Script Includes, and custom server-side scripting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and optimize event-driven discovery for AWS resources using ServiceNow Discovery and MID Servers.
• Develop and maintain custom probes, sensors, and patterns to support dynamic cloud infrastructure.
• Write and troubleshoot JavaScript-based business rules, script includes, and workflow scripts within ServiceNow.
• Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to ensure accurate and timely CMDB updates.
• Monitor and improve Discovery performance and ECC Queue processing.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience with ServiceNow Discovery, especially in AWS environments.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript within the ServiceNow platform.
• Familiarity with CMDB architecture, event-driven automation, and MID Server configuration.
• Experience with AWS services and cloud resource modelling.
• Ability to analyze Discovery logs and optimize probe/sensor performance
