Quality Test Engineer
Role: Quality Test Engineer (Manual & Automation)
Rate: £440 per day
IR35: Inside
Working Practice: Remote
Length: 6 Months
This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your experience in automation using Postman and other tools, while also playing a vital part in our manual testing requirements. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience migrating Cucumber (Ruby) automated tests into Postman, Playwright, or similar tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining and maintaining an effective test strategy for the team
- Developing automated tests for new features and keeping existing automation packs up to date
- Migrating automated tests from Cucumber (Ruby) to Playwright, Postman, or Bruno, depending on requirements
- Performing functional and regression testing, using both manual and automated approaches
- Contributing to the design and development of new features and solutions
- Continuously improving existing automation frameworks through investigation and implementation of enhancements
- Reporting, tracking, and ensuring timely resolution of bugs
- Integrating both new and existing automated regression tests into GitHub CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborating closely with product owners, project managers, and other development teams to deliver high-quality products and enhancements
Essential Requirements
- Strong collaborative spirit with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for the team
- Broad technical expertise and enthusiasm for technology
- Ability to document test cases clearly and concisely for ease of understanding by other team members
- Solid experience in quality assurance (QA) and a deep understanding of QA methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Proficiency in developing and executing automated tests using tools such as Postman, or transferable skills from similar tools
- Experience automating test execution using CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions
- Experience working in or a strong understanding of agile methodologies, particularly Kanban or Scrum, and a willingness to work within such teams
