About the Role
Concurrent Engineering have a position available for a dynamic and driven Senior Technical Consultant. This exciting opportunity is to work for a PTC Partner and be part of a fast-growing business. This is a hybrid position, our office is in Marston Green, Birmingham (Pinewood Business Park, B37 7HG).
The Senior Technical Consultant reports to the Head of Technical Services. Working within the PLM Product Implementation Team, this role will offer small, medium and large projects within multiple industry sectors in the UK and Ireland.
Your Day-to-Day
- The analysis and documentation of customer requirements
- Contributes to the design and delivery of the Concurrent Engineering Solutions.
- Executes assigned tasks including:
- Installation and configuration of PTC and third-party software
- GUI configuration of application to customer requirements
- Application debugging
- Data migration of customer data
- Integration and interfacing to existing systems, e.g. ERP
- Deployment support
- Documenting deliverables
- Provide 2nd Level customer technical support where assigned and required
- Peer reviews of project team deliverables to ensure that they are accurate, consistent, and meet client requirements
- Participates, assists, or acts as the facilitator in workshops/work sessions internally and customer facing. Supports the efforts of domain specialists in developing the overall client solution.
- Can clearly demonstrate an ability to work without immediate supervision.
- Mentoring of assigned Junior Consultants, ensuring they complete their required development milestones and technical certifications.
- Presents or facilitates training programs for PTC's product lines in a manner that maximizes knowledge transfer and retention of acquired skills. Coaches and mentors training participants either in our training facility, remotely or at the customer site where required. Understands how training interventions fit within the business and assists in the evaluation of course content and structure. May occasionally be required to configure or customise the training collateral to suit the specific needs of the customer.
What You Bring
- Relevant, degree-qualified (or recognized equivalent) or minimum of three years' experience in an Engineering Discipline or from an IT background
- Experience of or exposure to a PDM / PLM system e.g. PTC's Windchill as an End User, Administrator or Implementer
- Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
- Record of mentorship of junior team members
- Attention to detail
- Perseverance with the willingness to learn
- Customer-focused mindset
- A willingness to travel when required (about 20% of the time)

Bonus Skills
- PTC university certifications for Windchill
- Knowledge of server Operating Systems and associated utilities e.g. Windows Server, Red Hat Linux
- Understanding of databases e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Postgres
- Understanding of infrastructure, networks and security
- A proven background in a customer facing role
- Technical Support Desk experience
