NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER

In this role, you will be responsible for deploying, administering, maintaining, and supporting global networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN) and security-related hardware and software, utilizing cutting-edge technology.

The successful candidate will integrate the latest technology and ensure optimal network security configurations and best practices are implemented and enforced. Additionally, they will provide BAU support for all aspects of Network & Security, collaborating closely with the wider IT Team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Cisco Network Support Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred.
  • Multi-site Network Support: Experience with both L2 and L3 networks.
  • TCP/IP Suite Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge required.
  • Cisco Configuration and Maintenance: Hands-on experience with both software and hardware.
  • Firewall Administration: Practical experience in configuring and maintaining firewalls.
  • Network Segmentation and Access Control: Knowledge and experience required.
  • VPN Solutions: Experience with site-to-site and endpoint VPNs.
  • Enterprise Wireless Solutions: Proven experience necessary.
  • RADIUS/TACACS: Familiarity and hands-on experience.
  • Routing Solutions: Experience implementing and supporting BGP and static routing.
  • Cisco Meraki: Practical exposure and experience.
  • Microsoft Azure: Knowledgeable in its implementation and support.
  • Second/Third Line Network Support: Strong experience in BAU support.
  • Network Monitoring Solutions: Experience with various monitoring tools.
  • Technical Documentation: Proficiency in creating documentation using Visio and MS Office.
  • Driving License: Must hold a full UK driving license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, administer, and maintain Network & Security platforms, including routers, switches, wireless, firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, cryptography systems, monitoring, and cloud technologies.
  • Conduct diagnostics and analysis on Cisco-based Network & Security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network policies to ensure optimal system reliability and security.
  • Monitor network traffic to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Implement and manage remote access and VPN solutions.
  • Oversee PKI distribution, including certificate issuance and revocation.
  • Provide recommendations on Network & Security enhancements and features.
  • Develop technical specifications, runbooks, design documents, roll-out plans, and test plans.
  • Offer BAU support for Network & Security-related tickets and incidents.
  • Contribute to the development of IT policies and processes using industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals, such as Cyber Security Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, IT Support, and Software Developers, to ensure security is integrated into new systems and applications.
  • Follow strict change control processes to ensure only authorized changes are implemented.
  • Work with third-party vendors to ensure systems are optimized and issues are resolved.
  • Create both technical and non-technical documentation.
  • Define and maintain security policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, proposing and implementing mitigating solutions.
  • Provide occasional on-site support at various locations within and outside the UK.
  • Adhere to the company's core values and approach to business.
