STEM Graduate – Junior Data Analyst Role
Location: West Malling, Kent

I am working with a well-established financial services company in West Malling who are looking for a bright, analytical graduate to join their friendly and supportive data team.

What the role involves:

• You will help respond to internal data requests, using SQL and Excel to extract and analyse information, and then presenting your findings in a clear, structured way.
• You will be encouraged to develop your skills – including learning Python – and will be supported by a team that includes people from a range of backgrounds (including the Head of Department, who has a Biology degree).

Key responsibilities:

• Writing SQL queries to retrieve data
• Organising and analysing data in Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas)
• Producing reports and insights for internal teams
• Validating data to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Learning Python to support automation and streamline processes
• Presenting findings clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues

What they are looking for:

• A recent graduate with a STEM degree (e.g. Maths, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Economics)
• Some experience working with data (e.g. through university projects or self-learning)
• Strong Excel skills and a logical approach to problem solving
• Basic understanding of SQL, or a willingness to learn
• An interest in building skills in Python and reporting tools
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication
