Graduate Data Scientist

Are you a recent Computer Science, Data Science or AI graduate with a 2:1 or above?
Do you enjoy solving real-world problems using data, machine learning, and a bit of creative thinking?

Location: West Malling, Kent (Office-based)
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about data and wants to be hands-on from day one. You will be joining a growing analytics team at a well-established and respected financial services firm with over 25 years of industry expertise.

The role is ideal for someone who is proactive, curious, and ready to take ownership of how data science is applied within the business. You’ll be encouraged to bring your ideas to the table, use your initiative to explore problems, and have the freedom to decide how best to model and solve them.

What you will be doing:

• Building clean, robust data pipelines to feed into wider analytics and machine learning models
• Developing and testing machine learning algorithms to support real business decisions
• Working closely with analysts and other team members on ad-hoc requests and data investigations
• Exploring how AI can improve business efficiency and turning ideas into working solutions
• Presenting your findings in a clear, structured way for both technical and non-technical audiences

What we are looking for:

• A degree (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or similar
• Solid grounding in statistics – understanding of Bayesian and frequentist approaches, distributions, etc.
• Knowledge of core ML techniques like linear/logistic regression, random forests, time series models, etc.
• Familiarity with SQL and Python
• Bonus points if you have explored prompt engineering or large language models
• A self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a team mindset
