Remote - UK based
£70,000 - £80,000
- Are you an experienced Microsoft 365 Consultant with strong Microsoft Purview expertise?
- Can you lead client workshops, understand an organisation s information risks and turn your findings into a clear strategy and roadmap?
- Are you equally comfortable presenting ideas to senior stakeholders and working with technical teams to bring them to life?
We are recruiting for a growing Microsoft-focused technology consultancy delivering complex modern workplace, security, governance and AI projects for clients in the UK and internationally.
They are looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 Consultant to be the subject matter expert across information governance, data security, risk and compliance using Microsoft Purview.
You will also play an important role in helping clients prepare for Enterprise AI (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, Claude Cowork), ensuring that their data, permissions and governance controls are ready for the introduction of AI across Microsoft 365.
This is not simply a technical configuration role.
You will lead conversations with clients, understand their business and regulatory requirements, identify risks and recommend a practical way forward. You will then turn those recommendations into clear strategies, roadmaps and deliverable technical solutions.
You will need the credibility and presence to become a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, presenting complex ideas clearly and challenging clients constructively when required.
Alongside delivering client projects, you will help develop the consultancy s technical standards, reference architectures and service offerings across Microsoft Purview and Copilot governance.
The role
You will:
- Lead client discovery sessions, workshops and technical discussions
- Assess existing information governance, data security and compliance arrangements
- Help clients understand how Microsoft Purview can support their wider business and regulatory objectives
- Identify risks, governance gaps and opportunities across Microsoft 365
- Develop information governance strategies, solution designs and delivery roadmaps
- Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions
- Advise on information protection, data classification and sensitivity labelling
- Develop retention policies, retention labels and data lifecycle management approaches
- Design and implement Data Loss Prevention policies
- Support records management and the appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Help clients prepare their Microsoft 365 environments for Copilot
- Advise on Copilot readiness, data security, permissions and governance controls
- Translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes and recommendations
- Present proposed solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Produce high-quality assessments, designs, presentations and client documentation
- Work closely with architects, engineers and other consultants throughout delivery
- Remain involved beyond the initial recommendation, performing or helping to guide implementation and adoption
- Act as a senior technical authority for Purview and information governance engagements
- Contribute to technical standards, reference architectures and reusable delivery methods
- Help shape and develop new governance, compliance and Copilot advisory services
- Provide guidance and support to other consultants and engineers
What we are looking for
You will need:
- Strong experience delivering Microsoft 365 consultancy services to external clients
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Purview and its place within the wider Microsoft 365 ecosystem
- Practical experience designing and implementing Purview solutions
- Experience with information protection, sensitivity labels and Data Loss Prevention
- Knowledge of retention, records management or data lifecycle management
- A strong understanding of information governance, data security, risk and compliance
- Experience leading client workshops and gathering business and technical requirements
- The ability to turn discovery findings into clear recommendations and achievable roadmaps
- Confidence presenting technical ideas and proposed solutions to senior stakeholders
- The ability to explain complex governance and technical concepts without unnecessary jargon
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- A consultative and commercially aware approach
- The confidence to advise and challenge clients rather than simply take instructions
- Sufficient technical depth to remain closely involved through design and delivery
- A good working knowledge of the wider Microsoft 365 collaboration and security stack
Useful additional experience
Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:
- Microsoft Copilot readiness, adoption or governance
- Insider Risk Management
- eDiscovery and Audit
- Information Barriers
- Compliance Manager
- SharePoint information architecture and document management
- Entra ID and identity governance
- Power Platform
- Microsoft 365 tenant migrations or wider transformation programmes
- Delivering client training, webinars or Microsoft workshops
This is an excellent opportunity to take a visible and influential role within a growing Microsoft consultancy.
You will become a trusted partner to clients, helping them use their information securely and responsibly while getting greater value from Microsoft 365 and Copilot.
You will also have the opportunity to shape the consultancy s Purview and governance capability, influence technical direction and remain closely involved from initial idea and strategy through to implementation and adoption.
