Senior Consultant – Insurance Advisory (Transformation & Strategy)

Role Overview This position sits within the Insurance Advisory practice of a leading management consultancy. The role focuses on delivering high-value digital and technology transformation programmes for a portfolio of major UK insurers. You will work across Specialty, Health, Pensions, and London Markets, providing strategic guidance on operating models, business change, and the adoption of emerging technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Transformation Delivery: Lead workstreams within large-scale digital and technology transformation projects, ensuring alignment with client strategic objectives.
• Strategic Advisory: Develop and implement target operating models (TOM) and business change frameworks to improve organisational efficiency.
• Project Management & Analysis: Utilise Agile and Scrum methodologies to manage complex project lifecycles. Conduct deep-dive business analysis to solve operational challenges.
• InsurTech & Core Systems: Advise on the implementation and optimisation of core insurance technologies, including platform replacements such as Guidewire or similar industry-specific systems.
• Future of Insurance: Guide clients on the integration of Artificial Intelligence, specifically focusing on the application of Generative AI (GenAI) and Agentic AI within the insurance value chain.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Consulting Pedigree: Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a recognised management consultancy, specifically serving the insurance sector.
• Sector Knowledge: Proven track record delivering projects within Specialty insurance, London Markets, Health, or Pensions.
• Methodology Expertise: Practitioner-level experience in Agile/Scrum environments with a strong background in business analysis and project management.
• Technical Literacy: Familiarity with InsurTech trends and core insurance platforms (e.g. Guidewire, Duck Creek, or Sapiens).
• AI Exposure: A clear understanding of how AI and automation are reshaping the insurance industry, with the ability to discuss GenAI use cases at a senior level.
