Information Technology Support Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for an IT Support Engineer working Remotely but with frequent travel around England. For the first few months depending upon candidate location, weekly overnight stays will be required as you get up to speed. These will be fully covered by the company.
The Role:
Supporting our Group IT Manager, you will be part of a busy IT department who currently provide technical IT support to remote staff across the UK.
Key responsibilities:
• Providing telephone-based IT support for all IT devices used by office and mobile staff, including remote assistance where required
• Delivering occasional field-based IT support, which may involve overnight stays from time to time • Building, configuring, and deploying computer and mobile hardware using Intune
• Assisting with maintaining and updating the asset register for all computer hardware and IT equipment
• Installing, maintaining, and managing antivirus protection, including the removal of viruses and malware
• Creating, maintaining, and managing user accounts within NetSuite and Entra
• Supporting network infrastructure as required, including Starlink, mobile connectivity, and WiFi
• Installing and maintaining the VoIP-based telephone system
• Supplying, setting up, and supporting mobile devices, including troubleshooting and fault resolution
• Supporting and configuring the Microsoft 365 platform, including occasional development work
• Performing security-related patching, backup, and restore activities
• Liaising with third-party suppliers and vendors to ensure a high level of IT support for users across Core Highways
• Where training is required to carry out any of the above duties, this will be provided inhouse using the company’s cutting-edge training platform
The ideal candidate:
• Proven experience in a comparable IT support or technical role
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support users at all levels of the organisation
• Good technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 and associated applications
• Strong understanding of mobile devices, including common faults, troubleshooting, and basic repairs • Knowledge of server operating systems and Hyper-V environments would be advantageous; however, training will be provided where required
• Experience supporting IT hardware, software, and user accounts in a business environment
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a busy IT team
• A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to think creatively and solve problems
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, due to occasional field-based support requirements
