Data Engineer / Snowflake Engineer

Hull (Hybrid – 1 day per week on-site) | Up to £70,000

We’re supporting a growing business investing heavily in the modernisation of its data platform and analytics capability.

As part of this journey, they’re looking for a Data Engineer / Snowflake Engineer to play a key role in migrating and transforming their existing data estate into Snowflake, helping build a scalable, cloud-first data environment that supports both current and future business growth.

The Opportunity

The business is undergoing significant growth and is investing in creating a modern, scalable data estate capable of supporting increasingly complex reporting, analytics and operational requirements.

A major focus of the role will be designing and building robust ETL pipelines, integrating data from multiple source systems, and ensuring clean, reliable and accessible data within Snowflake.

You’ll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to understand data requirements, improve data flows and enable better decision-making across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing, building and optimising ETL / ELT pipelines
  • Supporting the migration of legacy and existing data into Snowflake
  • Integrating data from multiple internal and external source systems
  • Developing scalable data models and transformation logic
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity and reliability across the platform
  • Improving performance and efficiency of data pipelines

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer or Snowflake Engineer
  • Strong experience with Snowflake
  • Proven experience designing and building ETL / ELT pipelines
  • Strong SQL skills and data modelling experience
  • Experience integrating data from multiple systems and APIs
  • Good understanding of cloud-based data architectures
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Python or other scripting experience
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, DBT or similar
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience supporting BI / reporting functions
