The Lead Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining data solutions that align with business objectives. This is a crucial role within the team, requiring a proactive approach to designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data warehouse solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions to support business needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and understand data requirements.
- Ensure technical solutions are efficient, secure, and meet stakeholder expectations.
- Utilise big data technologies and integration tools to manage and process large datasets.
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of data operations and infrastructure.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Scala, and R.
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Synapse, Spark, and Kafka.
- Familiarity with database management systems including SQL Server and PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of data integration and ETL tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Apache NiFi2).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large datasets.
- Previous experience working within data operations teams.
- Experience with D365 Finance & Operations (F&O).
- Background in an e-commerce or supply chain environment is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field.
