Senior Data Engineer
Job Description
Senior Data Engineer (Microsoft Fabric)
\n
London (1–2 days a week onsite)
\n
£65,000 – £85,000
\n
\n
The Role
\n
This is a hands-on senior data engineering role focused on building modern data platforms from scratch using Microsoft Fabric and cloud technologies.
\n
\n
You’ll be joining a growing data team working across a range of client projects, helping organisations move from underutilised data to scalable, insight-driven platforms.
\n
\n
The work is varied and delivery-focused, typically across 8–12 week projects covering discovery, proof of concept, and full implementation.
\n
\n
This isn’t a role where you’ll be maintaining legacy systems — you’ll be designing and building solutions, shaping technical direction, and working closely with stakeholders to solve real business problems.
\n
\n
What You’ll Be Doing
\n
- \n
- Designing and building data platforms from the ground up using Fabric and cloud technologies
- Developing Python-based data pipelines and integrating multiple data sources
- Working across the full lifecycle: discovery → POC → delivery
- Supporting data science and predictive modelling use cases
- Engaging directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and shape solutions
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n\n
\n
\n
What They’re Looking For
\n
- \n
- Strong experience in data engineering with hands-on delivery
- Solid Python skills for building data pipelines
- Experience working in cloud environments (Azure, Fabric, AWS, etc.)
- Experience building or contributing to greenfield data platforms
- Comfortable working with stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership and contributing ideas, not just delivering tasks
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n\n
\n
The Environment
\n
- \n
- Small, growing data team (currently ~15, scaling to ~35)
- High ownership and autonomy — real opportunity to influence direction
- Collaborative culture with a strong focus on solving problems properly
- Varied project work across sectors including social housing and insurance
\n
\n
\n
\n\n
\n
Why This Role
\n
- \n
- Greenfield builds — not maintenance work
- Opportunity to shape how data solutions are designed and delivered
- Work across multiple projects and industries
- Strong balance of hands-on engineering and influence
- Clear growth trajectory within a scaling team
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n\n
\n
Salary for this role is going upto £85,000 + Benefits, they're based in the centre of London with people coming into the office 2 days a week.
