£80K–£120K + Equity (DOE)
Traditional financial markets are broken. Our client is rebuilding them from the ground up.
They’re a well-funded, early-stage fintech building next-generation infrastructure for global trading markets — enabling always-on, high-performance systems that challenge the status quo of traditional exchanges.
Backed by leading global investors and founded by top-tier quantitative engineers, this is an opportunity to work on deeply technical problems with real-world impact.
The Role
- You’ll design and build ultra-reliable, low-latency backend systems powering real-time trading infrastructure.
- Build fault-tolerant, high-performance services with strict latency requirements
- Own system reliability, scalability, and performance (p99 matters)
- Implement robust testing frameworks (CI/CD, load testing, chaos engineering)
- Influence architecture, tooling, and engineering standards
- Collaborate with a small, elite team to ship fast and iterate rapidly
What We’re Looking For
- Strong STEM degree from a top-tier university (e.g. Oxbridge / Imperial / equivalent globally)
- 3+ years experience in high-performance or real-time systems (e.g. trading, HFT, distributed systems)
- Proficiency in a systems-level language (Rust, C, C++)
- Strong understanding of performance optimisation, concurrency, and system design
- High ownership mindset — able to make fast, high-quality decisions
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, trading systems, or low-latency environments
- Exposure to Python and data tooling (NumPy, Pandas)
- Experience with Kubernetes or infrastructure-as-code
