Senior Consultant, Strategy, B2B Technology, Qualitative Research
A Senior Consultant opportunity has emerged with a specialist consultancy working at the intersection of technology, strategy, and human insight. This is a rare chance to work directly with founders and senior client decision-makers, leading substantive workstreams across some of the world's most recognisable technology businesses. Excited by complex problems and the chance to shape genuinely original thinking? Could this be the role for you?
The Role
The Senior Consultant will take ownership of multiple workstreams across a varied portfolio of global technology clients, managing scope, timing, and budget within a Director's overall approach. Day-to-day responsibilities span qualitative fieldwork and analysis — including demanding senior interviews — through to guiding quantitative specialists, reconciling conflicting evidence, and building commercially grounded recommendations. The Senior Consultant will also contribute to client sessions, support colleagues through clear direction and constructive feedback, and play an active part in developing proposals and the firm's broader intellectual output.
The Company
This is an established UK-based strategy consultancy with a distinctly hands-on culture — compact teams, senior practitioners who stay actively involved, and a genuine appetite for ideas that challenge convention. The firm works with major global technology businesses, helping leadership teams make sharper decisions on product, portfolio, pricing, and go-to-market strategy. It is a business at an exciting point of growth, broadening its client base and developing new ways of delivering strategic insight, including through its own AI-powered platform. Progression here is tied directly to contribution, with a clear path toward Associate Director and beyond for those who consistently perform.
What experience does the Senior Consultant need?
- A background in strategy or management consultancy, ideally with substantial experience advising technology businesses across both B2B and B2C contexts — five or more years is the benchmark, and what you have personally led carries the most weight.
- Demonstrated ability to design and run research programmes, combining strong qualitative interviewing skills with the commercial judgement to guide quantitative work and interpret findings with rigour and precision.
- Experience synthesising complex or contradictory evidence into clear, compelling arguments — communicated through precise writing and well-structured visual outputs that make thinking accessible to senior audiences.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment, with a genuine curiosity about technology and the ability to manage trade-offs, keep delivery on track, and develop those around you.
Benefits
- Base salary of £70,000 to £100,000 depending on experience, with a transparent bonus scheme typically worth 20 to 30% of salary in a strong year, rising significantly for exceptional performance.
- Participation in an employee equity scheme, alongside a company pension and Bupa private medical cover.
- Hybrid working with flexibility, 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday, and a dedicated learning budget including access to MIT SMR and HBR subscriptions.
- Direct mentoring from the founders and access to the latest AI tools and platforms.
