Cotality has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer wanting to work on solutions to the climate crisis. The contractor will support developing tools and functionality that will help our clients tackle carbon emissions, alleviate fuel poverty, and deliver the UK's decarbonisation targets.

We have some significant projects on our product roadmap and the contractor will be responsible for delivering on these projects, according to planned goals provided by each sprint planning session, as well as providing expert support and advice to help the existing members of the development team to grow their skillsets.

Skills required:

Highly relevant

· Highly proficient with C# and .Net framework

· Entity Framework (EF6), SQL Server

· Web API (Rest)

· Prior experience migrating .Net Framework solutions to .Net Core

· Knowledge of Git version control

· Experience with cloud services (Azure or AWS)

· Experience with best practice coding techniques (SOLID, IoC etc.)

· Testing experience

· Strong attention to detail

· Good communication skills, including knowledge sharing

Desirable

· Experience of working in an Agile environment

· Knowledge on optimising performance in both code and data

· JavaScript, JQuery and HTML / CSS for basic front-end development

· Experience of Vue (or Angular / React)

· Experience of using modern JavaScript (ES6+) and associated tooling

· Experience with Azure cloud services (including portal management)

· Experience of Azure SQL (Managed Instance a bonus)

· Experience with Azure DevOps

· Knowledge of DevOps Pipelines and Release processes

· Experience packaging and working with Nuget and / or NPM

· Exposure to other programming languages and methodologies

· Active Open-Source projects
