The founders, Alex and Laura, have extensive backgrounds in finance and are in the process of raising pre-seed funding. We are now looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Software Engineer who is comfortable being both hands-on and a strong architect, with the opportunity to grow as the company grows. We are an early-stage startup with a huge market opportunity and a first-mover advantage. We are looking for highly motivated people that really want to leave their mark in the industry!
This is a pivotal role, where you will collaborate closely with the founders and assume responsibility as a key member of the team. This role reports directly to the CTO. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to own and drive the platform development and operational excellence of Count. We offer a remote-first, full-time role.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Git, and Agile methodologies
- Strong experience with Node/Express.js
- Strong experience with React
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, specifically S3, SNS, SQS
- Substantial software development and architecture experience
- Understanding of RESTful API best practices and microservices
- Demonstrated success building highly elegant, scalable, and responsive applications for consumers
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python
- Experience with React Native / Expo
- Exposure to Postgres
- Experience with Next.js
- Experience with fintech or the financial industry is a plus
