Senior Full Stack Engineer, AI funding platform

About Us:

At Creare Capital, we are on a mission to help realise the full potential of the creative industries. We believe that creative businesses are underserved and underprepared when it comes to accessing and utilising finance to grow their companies.

We are on a journey to improve access to finance for creative industry businesses.

In our current phase, we are a funding finding platform that helps creatives find 700+ grants, loans and investors. We have now been signed off by the regulators where we will shortly be turning on Open Banking to enable us to deploy our novel Investment Readiness Score and an AI assistant to guide founders on what to do next.

We help creatives understand their funding options and prepare stronger applications for grants, loans and investment.

The Role:

We are now looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with real experience of building AI features in production to help us develop the next wave of product. If your only AI experience is through online courses or tutorials, this role is unlikely to be the right fit at this stage.

You will work closely with the founding team to turn ideas into live features, with a particular focus on how we use large language models inside the product. You will design and build services that:

  • Analyse information about a business and its funding needs
  • Recommend relevant funding opportunities in a structured, explainable way
  • Help founders draft and refine application content in their own tone of voice
  • Support more advanced workflows where different steps interpret data, take actions and generate outputs

You will move between backend services, simple user interfaces and LLM orchestration, and you will help us evolve our current set up towards a more advanced model with our own data and logic layered on top.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain APIs and services that interact with LLM providers
  • Design prompt patterns, tools and simple agent style flows for our use cases
  • Work with our existing data models and contribute to how we capture new signals
  • Collaborate on feature design, from technical constraints through to user experience
  • Ensure solutions are robust, observable and cost aware
  • Take part in code reviews and technical decision making

This is your opportunity to be part of something authentically game-changing, where you can roll your sleeves up and passionately get involved in helping us help others.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least three years of professional software engineering experience, data science or related
  • Has at least two years of hands on experience building machine learning / LLM based features in a live product used by real users
  • Has strong full stack skills, for example TypeScript and Node, Python, or a similar modern stack, and is comfortable with a mainstream frontend framework
  • Has practical experience with one or more LLM providers such as OpenAI or Anthropic, including prompt design and integration in code rather than only in a browser console
  • Understands how to structure AI calls for reliability, safety, cost and performance
  • Is confident working with APIs, authentication and structured data
  • Can explain technical ideas clearly to non technical colleagues
  • Experience in fintech, funding or credit related products

Nice to have, not essential

  • Interest in creative sectors such as games, film, music, fashion or digital media
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud environments
  • Line management / leadership roles previously held

Location and compensation

  • Remote first within UK friendly time zones, with occasional in person sessions.
  • A competitive compensation package, with potential for equity participation as the company grows.

How to apply: Please share

  • Your CV
  • Answers to the three questions below, in a few short paragraphs each
  • A link to a code sample or project you are happy to share, with a note on your role in it

Application questions

  • Describe one AI or LLM feature you have built that is in production. What problem did it solve, what was your role, and what technologies did you use
  • What LLM providers and models have you used directly in the last twelve months, and for what types of tasks
  • Share a link to a code sample or repo that reflects your current standard of work. Briefly explain which parts you wrote and what you would improve if you had more time

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a focused technical exercise, around 60 to 90 minutes, that reflects the type of AI work we do at Creare Capital.
