Long-term contract opportunity for a UX Copywriter working on in-vehicle digital interfaces for a global automotive brand. Hybrid role (Gaydon), 45-49k pro rata (£23.50/hr) umbrella, 40 hrs/week. We are recruiting a UX Copywriter for a long-term contract role supporting a global automotive organisation working on in-vehicle digital interfaces.

This role focuses on embedded digital systems, where clarity, usability, and safety of language are critical. You will work closely with UX designers, engineers, and product teams to ensure all in-vehicle content is intuitive, consistent, and scalable across global markets.

This is a product UX writing role, not marketing or brand copywriting.

• Write and refine UX copy for in-vehicle digital interfaces, including infotainment systems, digital dashboards, notifications, settings, and warning messages
• Create clear, user-centred content such as labels, menus, CTAs, system prompts, error messages, and instructional text
• Support and contribute to warning and safety-critical messaging, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations
• Develop and maintain content patterns, frameworks, and copy libraries
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, HMI engineers, product owners, and researchers
• Participate in design reviews, usability testing, and iterative development cycles
• Ensure content is translatable, globally scalable, and culturally appropriate

Essential

• Proven experience as a UX Writer, UX Copywriter
• Experience working on complex digital products (e.g. embedded systems, hardware-led platforms or regulated environments)
• Strong command of written English with excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of UX/UI principles, content design, and design systems
• Experience using tools such as Figma, Jira, Confluence, or similar
• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams with design and engineering stakeholders

Desirable

• Automotive, EV, consumer electronics, or embedded systems experience
• Knowledge of internationalisation and localisation
• Familiarity with accessibility, HMI standards, or multimodal interfaces
• Exposure to usability testing or user research
