AI Engineer - Cloud
Job duties-
Deliver hands-on engineering at the intersection of cloud platforms, software development, and AI enablement, building secure, scalable and sustainable AI-ready solutions. Design, develop and support reusable cloud and automation patterns that enable enterprise AI adoption while meeting security, governance and regulatory expectations. Work with cross-functional stakeholders to translate evolving requirements into reliable platform capabilities and production-grade implementations.
- Cloud & AI Solution Engineering
- Design and implement AI-ready solutions primarily on Microsoft Azure, with exposure to Oracle Cloud and AWS as required.
- Engineer and integrate AI services (e.g., Azure OpenAI) into business workflows with appropriate controls and operational readiness.
- Software Engineering & Integration
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs, integration services, and identity-aware solution patterns.
- Implement secure authentication and authorisation flows (e.g., OAuth2, token-based access, client credential patterns).
- Automation, DevOps & Infrastructure-as-Code
- Develop bespoke automation and integration components using Python and PowerShell.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and adopt modern engineering practices for repeatable delivery.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep/ARM/Terraform and drive reusable automation frameworks.
- Operations, Governance, Security & Cost
- Provide BAU and project support for cloud and AI workloads, ensuring stability, resilience and performance.
- Implement governance guardrails and controls to support responsible, compliant AI adoption in regulated environments.
- Contribute to platform security posture, compliance adherence and cost optimisation through engineering best practices.
- Documentation & Architecture
- Produce clear architectural designs and engineering documentation to enable repeatable patterns and scalable implementation.
Skills-
Essential
- Strong hands-on engineering experience on Microsoft Azure, including PaaS services and cloud-native implementation patterns.
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Bicep/ARM/Terraform).
- Strong proficiency in Python (essential) and PowerShell for automation and integration.
- Experience implementing and supporting cloud identity and access solutions (e.g., Entra ID) and secure identity-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience building REST APIs, service integrations and secure identity flows (OAuth2, tokens).
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI / OpenAI models and SDKs, including embeddings and vector-based workflows applied to real use cases.
- Strong understanding of IAM, security patterns, governance and compliance expectations in regulated environments.
Preferred
- Experience with Azure API Management or comparable API gateway solutions.
- Exposure to Responsible AI controls, AI governance practices, and model lifecycle controls in regulated settings.
- Knowledge of AI orchestration / vectorisation patterns and related frameworks (e.g., Foundry or equivalent concepts).
