Purpose of the role:

This role is in place to enable the tax departments to deliver a modern, technology-enabled service. This includes leveraging automation, robotics, and data analytics to enhance efficiency, quality, and effectiveness.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who has experience with the UK Tax system to help support our client facing teams with technology and software solutions.

The role sits within the wider Innovations team driving digital transformation within our business, with a focus on the Tax Practice.

This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, problem solving, and has good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support tax teams with new technology processes due to legislative changes such as MTD
  • Completing day-to-day technology routines provided to the tax teams including automated email routines, document management workflow support, and data cleansing
  • Assist in research and trials of alternative tax technology solutions
  • Support on project planning and project management
  • Utilise emerging technologies such a Gen AI and robotics
  • Support teams in developing best practice processes
  • Support the implementation of new technology solutions for the tax practice
  • Meet with team members to discuss where improvements are needed to enhance our systems
  • Work with other specialists to consider how data analysis and data science can be used effectively
  • Involvement in forming tax technology training content and supporting the Learning and Development team as needed
  • Visit teams across all Crowe offices where face-to-face support is needed
  • Maintain and enhance tax software information on our internal resource platform

Required Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:

  • An understanding of UK tax systems
  • Experience of working within the UK tax system
  • Problem solving skills
  • A passion for client service
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working in accountancy practice
  • Able to work on own initiative, but also be a team player
  • Knowledge of tax software
  • Accounting or Tax qualifications such as AAT, ATT, CTA are desirable but not essential
  • Tax Technology qualifications are desirable but not essential
