Award winning professional services company in Southwest London are recruiting a qualified Systems Accountant to join the team initially on a 1-year fixed term contract, possible to extend. The role - supporting 3 senior finance leaders with operational, reporting and managerial duties. You will be joining a well-established and highly regarded accounts team, with a headcount of 18, known across the firm for its professionalism, reliability, and collaborative approach. Many team members have been with the firm for several years, contributing to a stable and supportive working environment. There is a high likelihood this contract will be extended as the firm are extremely busy and experiencing strong growth.

Reporting to the head of finance, who is nurturing and supportive you will be given the opportunity to develop your finance skills and career. The firm are also happy to invest in the successful person with training on systems and project management.
Key responsibilities of the Systems Accountant:
Change Management & Project Support
- Oversee or assist with finance-focused transformation initiatives, such as new system rollouts, updates, data migrations, and technology integrations.
- Carry out assessments of risks and perform necessary testing during system modifications.
- Develop and deliver guidance, documentation, and training to support staff in adapting to revised processes or tools.
Financial Reporting & Data Quality
- Prepare one-off and recurring financial analyses, while helping to design or refine reporting solutions.
- Safeguard the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of financial information across all platforms.
- Partner with relevant teams to streamline data handling and strengthen reporting efficiency.
Systems & Process Management
- Maintain and improve financial software and related tools.
- Seek and implement ways to make existing procedures more efficient.
- Ensure financial systems meet both regulatory obligations and internal governance standards.
- Serve as the link between finance, IT, operational teams, and external service providers.
Operational Finance Tasks
- Manage period-end closing activities.
- Handle VAT submissions and respond to related queries.
- Approve outgoing payments.
- Administer partnership-related financial matters.
- Conduct internal compliance checks and audits.
Technical skills of the Systems Accountant - ideally you will be:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and Formulas)
- Highly IT literate and able to learn new systems quickly
- Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Adaptable, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
