A specialist engineering organisation delivering high-performance sensing and embedded systems is seeking a Software Test & Validation Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team.
This role focuses on implementing robust verification and validation processes for software and firmware across complex electro-mechanical products, supporting projects from design through to customer acceptance.

A specialist engineering organisation delivering high-performance sensing and embedded systems is seeking a Software Test & Validation Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team.
This role focuses on implementing robust verification and validation processes for software and firmware across complex electro-mechanical products, supporting projects from design through to customer acceptance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and test software and firmware changes
- Maintain clear records of work in line with departmental procedures and ISO 9001:2015 standards
- Create and maintain test environments for software/firmware validation
- Participate in agile team events including stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Support internal and external customers with troubleshooting software systems
- Act as a reference point for team best practice and provide support to other projects
- Undertake occasional UK travel for customer or supplier visits
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent (professional registration encouraged)
- Hands-on experience in software/firmware validation projects
- Strong background in C# .NET, C, C++ (LabVIEW experience advantageous)
- Experience testing safety-critical functions and supporting electro-mechanical products
- Full software lifecycle experience: documentation, design, development, testing, revision control, and maintenance
- Structured design methodology and Agile/Scrum familiarity
- High-level understanding of electronics advantageous
- Able to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
