Main duties of the job
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the support, maintenance and development of the Trust's network and telephony infrastructure
A Senior Infrastructure Engineer must be able to configure, maintain and troubleshoot the Digital Services infrastructure to enable maximum system availability. A key part of the role is to investigate and demonstrate the use of new and emerging technologies which can support and improve ways of working across the organisation.
A proven ability to work autonomously and under pressure in order to meet project deadlines, whilst also monitoring infrastructure performance to ensure maximum uptime is an important skill and requirement for the role.
The post holder will be expected to participate in the Digital Services Out of hours On-Call emergency service.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
- Comprehensive experience of installing and configuring networking hardware including CISCO routers and switches
- Demonstrable experience of working within a VMware virtualisation environment
- Demonstrable evidence of extensive continuing professional development
- Experience of managing a WAN and LAN rollout including Wireless and Telephony on new / renovated premises
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing and the IaaS, PaaS and SaaS service models
- Experience of Configuration and Support of Microsoft Office 365 and Azure
Skills
- Effective leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to set clear targets, motivate staff and delegate appropriately
