Software Engineer
Cure Talent are delighted to be partnering with an innovative medical technology company developing a highly complex hardware and software-based medical device.
Following successful commercialisation of its technology within the research market, the business is now progressing the platform towards release as a regulated medical device. As part of this next stage of growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer to join their multidisciplinary engineering team.
The successful Software Engineer will develop production-quality software used to control complex instrumentation and acquire data from hardware systems. Working closely with hardware, systems and scientific teams, you'll take software from concept through development, integration, verification and release within a regulated medical device environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain production-quality software for complex medical technology.
- Develop software interfacing with hardware, sensors, instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Own software features from requirements and design through implementation, testing and release.
- Plan and execute software verification and validation activities.
- Contribute to requirements, traceability, risk management and Design History File documentation.
- Support troubleshooting, issue resolution and controlled software releases.
What we're looking for:
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years' commercial software development experience within a product development environment.
- Strong programming experience with C++, Python, C#, C or similar languages.
- Experience developing software that interfaces with hardware, instrumentation, embedded or real-time systems.
- Medical device or similarly regulated product development experience.
- Knowledge of software testing, V&V and technical documentation; IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 experience would be highly advantageous.
