Systems & Security Engineer
Cure Talent is delighted to be supporting an innovative UK based life sciences and medical technology company developing next generation diagnostic technology. As the business continues to scale its platform, systems, and infrastructure, they are now looking to appoint a Systems & Security Engineer to take ownership of internal security, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring capabilities (remote first working arrangement, with a few days per month in Bristol).
This is a hands-on role within a growing organisation, offering broad exposure across Linux based systems, cloud and on prem infrastructure, security tooling, and internal IT. You will play a key role in owning day to day security monitoring and infrastructure operations, while maintaining the agility required in a fast paced, regulated environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Take ownership of day-to-day security monitoring, including investigating alerts, manual monitoring, and incident response
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Linux OS level issues across servers and infrastructure
- Maintain, improve, and secure cloud and internal infrastructure, including monitoring, patching, automation, and hardening
- Manage a mix of on prem and cloud infrastructure in a cloud agnostic environment, rather than relying on a single provider
- Develop and maintain internal tooling, scripts, and dashboards to support auditing, monitoring, and reliability
We’re looking for a Systems & Security Engineer with:
- Strong hands-on Linux experience, including OS level troubleshooting and system administration
- Proven experience owning systems administration, infrastructure, and security responsibilities in a hands-on role
- Experience managing cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, alongside on prem systems
- Solid understanding of security fundamentals including access control, monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response
- Scripting or automation experience using tools such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Desirable experience includes exposure to endpoint management or security tooling such as Microsoft Intune, CrowdStrike, or Wazuh, as well as experience working in startup, scale up, or regulated environments, though this is not essential.
If you’re a hands-on systems or infrastructure engineer with a strong interest in security, looking for a role with genuine ownership and impact in a growing MedTech business, we’d love to hear from you.
