M365 Principal Consultant/Practice Lead | Remote | Permanent | Up to £100,000
Our client is seeking an experienced M365 Security leader to join a growing consultancy practice. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with team leadership, offering the opportunity to lead and develop a team of consultants whilst remaining actively involved in customer engagements, solution design and delivery.

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 + bonus + benefits

The Role:
The successful candidate will lead a team of consultants whilst continuing to operate as a hands-on Microsoft Security specialist. You will work closely with customers to improve their security posture through Microsoft 365 security and compliance technologies, whilst supporting the growth and development of the wider practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of consultants
- Partner with customers to understand security challenges, risks and business priorities
- Assess Microsoft 365 environments and identify opportunities to improve security maturity
- Design and implement Microsoft security and compliance solutions aligned to Zero Trust principles
- Lead deployments across Microsoft Defender, Purview, Entra ID, Intune and the wider Microsoft security stack
- Deliver tenant migrations and greenfield Microsoft security implementations
- Define security strategies, roadmaps and governance approaches
- Support pre-sales engagements, technical workshops and Statements of Work
- Work with stakeholders ranging from technical teams through to senior leadership
- Collaborate with Microsoft product and engineering teams
Leadership Experience Required:
- Previous people management experience
- Experience managing and developing technical teams
- Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities
- Ability to remain technically credible whilst operating at a leadership level
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Passion for building high-performing teams
Technical Skills Required:
- Microsoft Purview
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
- Microsoft Defender for Office 365
- Microsoft Defender for Identity
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Intune
- Zero Trust architecture and security frameworks
- Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and greenfield deployments
- Security assessments and hands-on remediation
- Customer-facing consulting experience
- Technical pre-sales and workshop delivery
Highly Desirable:
- Microsoft MVP
- Ex-Microsoft experience
- Active participation in the Microsoft community
- Conference speaking, blogging or thought leadership experience
