Role overview:
Currie & Brown are seeking a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Analyst with strong hands-on experience across Microsoft technologies and enterprise infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our IT systems, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all core services, providing 3rd line support whilst also dealing with escalated support desk tickets from 2nd line support. This role will be based in London and primarily cover the UK & Europe region but will also support the wider Global Infrastructure team.

The ideal candidate should be very client focused, possess excellent communication skills and have strong, proven technical experience. Working hands-on with various technologies and platforms including Microsoft, VMware, NetApp, SonicWall and Cisco Meraki, focusing on identity, collaboration, cloud, servers, networking, and security—helping us deliver a reliable, secure, and scalable platform for a global user base.
Key responsibilities:
- Administering and optimizing the following: -
- Microsoft Active Directory (Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, OU structure, RBAC)
- Entra ID (Azure AD) including conditional access, MFA, SSPR, identity lifecycle, and hybrid identity (Azure AD Connect / Entra Connect), InTune, Autopilot.
- Microsoft 365: Operate and enhance SharePoint Online, Teams, and Exchange Online / Hybrid, OneDrive - governance, licensing, retention, DLP, mail flow, transport rules, Teams policies, and SharePoint site.
- Windows Server: Build, patch, harden, and troubleshoot Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), including IIS, file/print, DFS, SQL, certificates (AD CS).
- Virtualisation and storage: Administer existing SAN/NAS NetApp storage and VMware Vcenter and VSphere ESXi hypervisor.
- Networking & Security: Administer firewalls, switches and network stack—particularly SonicWall and/or Cisco Meraki (site-to-site VPNs, client VPN, NAT, HA), switching/VLANs, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and performance monitoring.
- Email Hygiene & Backup: Operate Mimecast (gateway, anti-spam/AV, archiving, continuity, impersonation protection) and support AvePoint Cloud Backup (M365 backup/restore). Exposure to AvePoint Opus (records/content lifecycle) is a plus.
- Operations & Reliability: Own incident/problem/change tasks (ITIL), root-cause analysis, documentation/KBs, runbooks, capacity planning, and compliance/alignment with security baselines.
- AV Technologies – Teams Room Systems – Logitech Meetup, Rally and Lenovo.
- Automation & Scripting: Use PowerShell to automate routine tasks and configuration.
Qualifications and skills:
- Educated to degree level with Microsoft certifications.
- Active Directory, Entra, M365, Azure.
- InTune, Autopilot, mobile device/application management – policy and compliance.
- Networking, Firewalls. VPNs, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, Wi Fi; SonicWall and/or Meraki experience.
- Email – security and mail flow, SPF/DKIM/DMARC understanding.
- Windows Server - build, hardening, patching, GPO, certificates, core roles.
- Mimecast administration
- Knowledge and experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ proven experience working in a similar role supporting multi-site/global users with strong troubleshooting skills, a pragmatic working approach and a willingness to take ownership of tasks, seeing them through to completion. Previous experience working on ITIL based ITSM systems.
