About the Company
At Cyber Guardian Consulting Group, we bring Fortune 100-caliber cybersecurity to small and medium-sized businesses. We're security-forward, AI-first, and obsessed with solving real problems for real clients. Headquartered in New York's Hudson Valley with offices in Hudson Yards and Brooklyn, we're now expanding to London—and looking for our first engineer on the ground to help us do it.
About the Role

- Build and maintain RESTful services, webhooks, and asynchronous workflows
- Troubleshoot integration failures, API errors, and data inconsistencies
- Work with external vendors and internal stakeholders to understand integration requirements
- Ensure integrations meet security, performance, and reliability standards
- Write clear documentation for integration logic, APIs, and data mappings
- Monitor integrations and improve observability (logging, alerts, retries)
- Help shape engineering culture and hiring as we build out the London team
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience working with REST APIs and JSON/XML payloads
- Proficiency in Python or other backend languages
- Proficient or experienced with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience debugging API issues using logs, monitoring tools, and API clients
- Comfortable working with relational databases and SQL
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and time zones
Nice to Haves
- Hands-on experience integrating with third-party SaaS systems (ERP, HRIS, CRM, finance platforms, etc.)
- Working knowledge of frontend programming (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
- Comfortable working with Excel
- Experience with authentication methods such as OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT
- IT background with experience supporting, integrating, or administering enterprise software systems
- Exposure to SOC 2, GDPR, or enterprise security requirements
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation, or Terraform)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
