AWS Solutions Architect (API and Microservices)
- Location: Remote
- Clearance: Active SC
- Rate: £550 per day inside IR35
- Duration: initial 6 months
Overview
- We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect with strong expertise in API and microservices design. This role focuses on delivering secure, scalable, and well-integrated cloud solutions across multiple services and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design serverless and microservices-based architectures on AWS
- Define and implement RESTful API standards and integration patterns
- Enable data and system integration across distributed environments
- Identify technical debt and recommend modernisation approaches
- Collaborate with product and delivery teams to align solutions with business needs
- Support deployments, cutover, and post-go-live activities
- Ensure solutions are secure, observable, and compliant
- Design integrations with identity providers and secure access controls
Key Skills
- Strong AWS architecture experience, particularly APIs and microservices
- Knowledge of serverless and cloud-native design principles
- Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub, Jenkins)
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
- Understanding of AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, EKS, VPC
- Exposure to GraphQL and TypeScript is beneficial
- Awareness of AWS security tools such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail

- Focus is on strong API and microservices architecture capability
