Data Analyst Apprentice

Over four years, you will gain practical experience, whilst studying towards a recognised Degree Apprenticeship. The role supports the development of data models, analytics, reporting, solution design, IT governance, cyber awareness and digital transformation activities. You will work with senior specialists across various IT teams.

Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business & Requirements Analysis: Critically analyse business domains, gather requirements and translate them into solution designs
  • Data Modelling & Data Solutions: Support modelling of organisational information needs and assist in building data structures
  • Cyber Security & Risk Awareness: Support simple IT security risk assessments and follow good security practice
  • Digital & Technology Solutions: Apply systematic methodologies for planning and delivering small technology or data projects
  • Networking & Infrastructure Awareness: Understand basics of network design and support related documentation
  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Present findings clearly to both technical and non‐technical audiences
  • Continuous Professional Development: Participate in structured and self‐directed learning as part of apprenticeship requirements

Training

  • Apprentices will undertake the level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Degree Apprenticeship programme delivered by the University of Staffordshire
  • Teaching will be a mix of on-the-job and off-the-job training delivered face-to-face in university and online weekly sessions. The programme is delivered using a blended learning model
  • Apprentices will attend university for 1 week of study per semester each academic year
  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices will achieve their BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions.
  • On completion of the apprenticeship, the individual would be well placed to progress into a Data Analyst role, applying their technical skills and business understanding to deliver meaningful insights, partnering with stakeholders to explore data, identify trends and support decision‐making
  • This progression marks a shift from learning the fundamentals to actively shaping how data is used across the organisation, providing a strong foundation for future development into senior analytics, specialist or leadership roles
