Azure Cloud Migration Architect (AVS & Terraform Transformation)

We’re working an Insurance firm on a high-impact Azure migration programme, and they’re looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the final stage of their migration from on-prem VMware to Azure AVS.

This is a strategic yet deeply technical role, shaping the way they deploy and operate its cloud infrastructure going forward.

The Role

• Lead the AVS migration, working closely with Microsoft and cloud delivery partners.
• Drive the Infrastructure-as-Code transformation — moving from legacy Terraform to Azure Verified Modules (AVM).
• Design and implement robust Azure infrastructure, including networking, DR, backup, monitoring, and FinOps.
• Collaborate across security, operations, and strategy teams to build a secure-by-design, automated cloud environment.
• Provide leadership and technical authority to partners delivering cloud optimisation, testing, and documentation.

What You’ll Bring

• Expert-level knowledge of Azure Infrastructure, AVS, and Terraform/AVM.
• Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migrations.
• Deep understanding of IaC, automation, disaster recovery, and cost optimisation.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to challenge the baseline and make things better.
• Self-driven, delivery-focused, and confident engaging senior stakeholders.

This is for a hardcore Azure architect who can balance strategy with execution — designing the future while fixing the now.
