We are looking for an experienced Chapter Lead to join a major fintech transformation programme. You will work within a product-led environment, helping to build secure and scalable platforms that process millions of financial transactions.

Alongside providing hands-on technical leadership, you will lead and develop a talented engineering chapter working across several cross-functional squads. This is an opportunity to make an immediate and visible impact on both the technology and the people delivering it.

Key Responsibilities People Leadership
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing team of software engineers.
  • Create a coaching-led, collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, development and progression.
  • Provide regular feedback, mentoring and technical guidance.
  • Promote accountability, innovation and psychological safety.
  • Support engineers in achieving their professional and technical development goals.
Technical Leadership
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across modern software-engineering practices.
  • Support the development of secure, scalable and highly available fintech platforms.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality, security and reliability.
  • Work closely with Product, Architecture and other technical stakeholders.
  • Help teams overcome complex technical and delivery challenges.
Strategy and Delivery
  • Contribute to the organisation's technical strategy and engineering roadmap.
  • Support a major fintech transformation programme.
  • Promote effective collaboration across engineering teams and product squads.
  • Help ensure the successful delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, tooling and ways of working.
  • Communicate technical decisions and progress effectively to senior stakeholders.
Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be a people-focused technical leader who is passionate about developing engineers and delivering excellent software.

Essential
  • Strong software-engineering background using C# and .NET.
  • Experience developing complex, secure and scalable systems.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching and mentoring software engineers.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps and product-led delivery environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern engineering practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to balance people leadership with hands-on technical direction.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Desirable
  • Previous experience within fintech, financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-native engineering.
  • Experience working across multiple cross-functional product squads.
  • Understanding of security and compliance requirements within financial systems.
