Robotics Software Engineer (Flight Software) £55,000 Oxfordshire or London, UK (Remote with monthly office visits) Permanent
We are looking for a talented Robotics Software Engineer to join a fast-growing start-up developing cutting-edge assurance systems for AI and robotics. In this role, you'll help design and implement software that ensures the safe operation of AI-enabled robotics and autonomous systems within the product line.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop robotics software for autonomous systems.
Support algorithms for perception, planning, control, and decision-making.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software into systems.
Test and optimize robotics software to meet performance standards.
Contribute to process improvements in development, tooling, and testing.
Key Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with robotics, embedded systems, or autonomous systems.
Proficient in C/C++ and/or Python.
Familiar with ROS, Gazebo, or MoveIt.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Must have, or be able to obtain, UK SC clearance.
Desirable Skills:
Experience with safety-critical software standards (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262).
Exposure to robotic hardware or simulation environments.
